Welcome to My Personal Page
This year feels especially meaningful because New York Road Runners is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the iconic five borough marathon course, and it also happens to be the year I turn 50. When I was deciding which charity to run for, I wanted to support a cause that felt relevant to where I am in life right now.
My grandmother lived with osteoporosis, so I saw firsthand how it can affect independence and quality of life. As I've learned more about bone health, I've been surprised by how many women are affected, particularly during and after menopause. Osteoporosis is often called a silent disease because many people don't know they have it until they experience a fracture.
That is why I am proud to support the Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation (BHOF), the leading health organization dedicated to preventing osteoporosis and broken bones, promoting strong bones for life, and reducing human suffering through education, advocacy, research, and patient support.
Every dollar raised helps BHOF improve patient care, educate the public, support those living with osteoporosis, and advance research into bone health.
Thank you for supporting my marathon journey and helping me make every mile count. Any contribution, large or small, is greatly appreciated.
Thanks for supporting me!
Amanda
