Be Bone Strong — Ethan's 2026 NYC Marathon Page!
Hi, I'm Ethan — a 21-year-old Columbia student, Sacramento native, and lifelong athlete who just ran his first marathon in Vienna this spring. This fall, I'll be lacing up again for the 2026 NYC Marathon as part of the BHOF "Be Bone Strong" team, and I'm asking for your support.
Being active has always been central to who I am — from 100-mile cycling rides to the soccer field to the open road. That's exactly why this cause resonates with me so deeply. An estimated 10 million Americans over 50 have osteoporosis, and another 44 million have low bone density — putting nearly half of all adults over 50 at risk. For people who love to move, the threat of fragile bones and fractures can mean losing the ability to do the things that make life full.
The Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation (BHOF) is the nation's leading organization dedicated to preventing osteoporosis, promoting strong bones for life, and reducing human suffering through education, advocacy, and research. The good news is that osteoporosis is a manageable and preventable disease — but awareness and funding are critical.
Every dollar raised goes toward improving patient care and educating the public about this chronic condition. I'm proud to run 26.2 miles through the streets of my adopted hometown for a cause this meaningful. Thank you so much for your support — it truly makes a difference.
